League of Nations
The League of Nations was an international organization founded in 1920 as part of the Treaty of Versailles that ended World War I. The League’s main goal was to promote peace, security, and international cooperation. Its members consisted of almost all the nations in the world at the time, and it had various organs and agencies to carry out its work, including a secretariat, an international court, and a council of member states. Despite its efforts, the League was unable to prevent the outbreak of World War II and was dissolved in 1946.
